The archives were left open because, well, I think mailing lists (and 
especially ones about stuff like cooking) are a resource.

That said the email addresses are obscured and the archiver obeys the 
X-No-Archive header.

However if the general consensus is "no public archives" then I'm fine 
with changing it.
